Gustav Michel GmbH & Co. KG was established in Ihmert/Germany in 1907.
Before long the company had become a dependable manufacturer of hardware for the funeral industry, the start of a 100-year specialisation process. With the relocation of our production facilities in the early 1930s, the lovely forested town of Iserlohn became our corporate and production headquarters. Here, half-way between the Ruhr district and the Sauerland region, we have meanwhile developed into one of the most successful manufacturers of coffin hardware and casket accessories.
Since 2013 we also manufacture accident recovery and transport coffins made of extremely wear-resistant materials.
Due to our exceptionally high degree of specialisation in combination with a unique range of products, we have been regarded for decades as the leading manufacturer in our segments and have a consistently growing client base in Germany and abroad.

Today, operating in the fourth generation, GM is your reliable supplier for coffin handles and fittings as well as for accident recovery and transport coffins. GM leads the European market in the coffin hardware and casket accessories sectors, offering the most extensive range of products and the greatest selection of types and colours. Our product range stands out due to its exceptional functionality, high quality, security and top design. The product segment “accident recovery and transport coffins” also constitutes a unique range which we will be expanding in the future with innovative ideas within the scope of our in-house production capacities.
